Position: Insurance Administrator - Corporate Insurance (Kansas City)

Description

The Insurance Administrator will provide technical and administrative support to the Burns & McDonnell Insurance Department. This includes supporting the Insurance Manager with the administration of Burns & McDonnell's corporate property and casualty insurance program, project specific policy placements, contract review, and special projects as needed.

  • Prepare and update information for renewal of the corporate insurance program.
  • Request auto  and update fleet schedule as needed.
  • Prepare and process project invoices.
  • Set up and maintain contract files, bond files, and builders risk files.
  • Process complex insurance certificates as requested.
  • Provide support in executing insurance policy change requests; ensure receipt of endorsements, invoices and certificates.
  • Organize and maintain insurance files and related correspondence.
  • Manage internal requests for insurance services.
  • Support placement and administration of project specific Builders Risk coverage.
  • Review and edit business contracts for insurance requirement.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Complies with all policies and standards.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor Degree in Business, Finance or related field from an accredited program. and 4 years related experience required.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of commercial property/casualty coverages & bonds preferred.
  • Corporate or agency experience in commercial insurance services desired.
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to follow complex requests.
  • Organizational and time management skills to prioritize workload and meet deadlines required.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills; strong interpersonal skills; and the ability to clearly and effectively present information to all levels of employee, management and clients.
  • The ability to prioritize, multi-task and work independently as well as with a group is required.
  • Must be proficient in the use of computer software (i.e., Microsoft Word, Outlook and Excel).
