Purchasing Agent – Garage Doors & MaterialsPosition Overview
We are seeking a
detail-oriented and organized Purchasing Agent to join our team. This position is responsible for purchasing garage doors, garage door components, and related materials while ensuring products are ordered accurately and delivered on schedule.
The ideal candidate is a strong communicator who can build effective relationships with vendors and internal teams, manage multiple priorities, and maintain a high level of accuracy.
Purchasing experience is required, with experience in the construction, building materials, garage door, or related industry preferred.
$40,000 – $50,000/annual
Starting pay
- Purchase garage doors, hardware, components, and related materials based on company needs and project requirements.
- Place and track purchase orders, ensuring accuracy in quantities, specifications, pricing, and delivery dates.
- Communicate regularly with vendors regarding orders, lead times, availability, backorders, and delivery schedules.
- Coordinate with sales, operations, warehouse, installation, and other internal teams to ensure materials are available when needed.
- Monitor inventory levels and anticipate purchasing needs to help prevent shortages or unnecessary excess inventory.
- Maintain strong relationships with existing vendors.
- Resolve discrepancies involving orders, invoices, shipments, damaged materials, or incorrect products.
- Maintain accurate purchasing records and documentation.
- Stay informed about product availability, pricing changes, lead times, and industry trends.
- Perform other purchasing and administrative duties as assigned.
- Previous purchasing or procurement experience.
- Experience in the
construction industry, building materials, garage doors, or a related field is preferred
. - Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong follow-through and ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
- Proficiency with general computer applications.
- Ability to read and understand product specifications, purchase orders, and invoices.
- Ability to work independently while also collaborating effectively with a team.
