Herzog Transit Services, Inc. is currently seeking a Service Maintainer in Kansas City, MO to join our Maintenance Team for the Kansas City Streetcar. • Assist with Facility repairs and inspections.
• Restock passenger report cards and safety sensitive literature on cars.
• Perform all duties in conformance with appropriate safety and security standards.
• Wash exterior of streetcars when scheduled.
• Cleaning of the track, track slab, and track flange ways.
• Interface with Kansas City Streetcar representatives and passengers.
• Interface with other operation and mechanical employees.
• Assist with inventory shipping, receiving and organization.
• Regular engagement and promotion of Herzog’s Culture and its essential behaviors is required.
• Regular attendance and punctuality are required.
• Other duties as assigned.

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to follow written and oral instructions.
• Must be fluent in English.
• Understand and follow safety rules, work rules and procedures.
• Dependable and punctual, with minimal absences.
• Work well with others and independently.
• Adaptable to flexible shifts, schedules and overtime.
• Perform quality work efficiently with minimal supervision.
• Accept constructive criticism.
• Knowledge of mechanics trade practices, methods, tools, equipment.
• Knowledge of occupational hazards and safety precautions of the mechanic's trade.
• Assist in maintenance and repair of all types of equipment from Streetcars to facility repairs.
• Use and care for tools and equipment used in maintenance and repair.
• Able to work around high voltage.

• Subject to pre-employment background check and motor vehicle report review.
• Maintain a valid driver’s license and required endorsements.
• Pass pre-employment physical, medical evaluation, and drug screen due to the safety-sensitive nature of this position.
• Complete and maintain required safety certification and testing annually.

• Regularly lift weight up to 75 pounds to a height of up to 56 inches.
• Regularly carry weight up to 75 pounds to a distance up to 100 feet.
• Regularly push/pull up to 50 pounds for a distance up to 50 feet.
• Regularly grasp or squeeze with forces up to 40 pounds.
• Regularly ascend and descend a 10-step ladder with up to 25 pounds.
• Work in confined access/space environments of 12‑inch height and 24‑inch width.
• Regularly kneel, bend, squat while transferring up to 25 pounds.
  
  Regularly sit and stand for extended periods.
• Walk on uneven surfaces up to 1 mile.
• Lay on back for extended periods.
• Reach overhead while holding tools.
• Be aware of surroundings and follow verbal commands while exposed to moderately loud noises daily.
• Adapt to various temperature extremes including heat, cold, moisture, and wind.
• Work in a safety-sensitive work environment.
• Pass color/vision examinations as required.
• Hear and distinguish auditory signals as required.
