The Maintenance Engineer performs a variety of tasks related to the stadium, and surrounding facilities regarding analyzing, correcting, and repairing maintenance problems and various maintenance equipment. Other responsibilities include construction, repair, maintenance, upkeep, and safe operations of related facilities. Maintenance Engineer will have knowledge in maintenance engineering disciplines, be able to apply traits of forward‑thinking and ingenuity to daily tasks, and a strong willingness to work in a team environment.
Whatwill you do?
- Organize or render assistance for stadium maintenance functions.
- Promptly acknowledge responses to concerns and requests made by staff.
- Respond to work orders in a timely and efficient manner.
- Ensure timely completion of work orders utilizing the computerized maintenance management system (CMMS).
- Assist in overseeing and managing the maintenance records and supplies.
- Assist engineering management on projects, and other maintenance duties such as work orders covering corrective and preventive maintenance of buildings and their components.
- Work together with other maintenance personnel and management in organizing an essential team that successfully represents the expertise and quality standards of the organization.
- Perform some duties with access control systems, fire detection and protection systems, and building heating, electrical, mechanical systems.
- Perform inspections, and repair/replace missing and broken components of stadium seats, doors, restrooms, and other general facility fixtures.
- Perform general building maintenance to include wall patching, painting, carpentry, wall tile replacement, relamping, ceiling tiles inspections, and basic plumbing repairs.
- Provide minor service of the facility air conditioning systems. Experience with ventilation, air conditioning, and refrigeration equipment is preferred but not required.
- Conduct regular inspections of buildings and equipment to ensure functionality, safety, and compliance.
- Must be able to respond to emergencies as needed.
- Will be expected to travel between CPKC Stadium and The University of Kansas Health System Training Center to perform duties. Travel outside the Kansas City Metropolitan area is not expected in this role.

- High School diploma or equivalent
- Ability to work with limited supervision and as a team member.
- Self‑motivated and able to work on an individual basis with effective time management skills
- A minimum of two years’ experience with power tools and hand tools.
- Working knowledge of building systems, equipment, and OSHA safety standards.
- Demonstrate attention to detail.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close and focused vision.
- Must be able to work a flexible schedule, inclusive of weekends, nights (event evenings & overnight operation shifts) and holidays.
- Ability to monitor company communications and respond to time‑sensitive matters with senior executives.
- Must be able to stand, walk, and move around the venue for extended periods of time, often during events or facility setup and breakdown.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds as needed for event setup, equipment management, or assisting with operational needs.
