Reports To: Service Manager

Position Type: Full Time

Work Schedule: Monday‑Friday 8am‑5pm

Work Location: Headquarters, Kansas City, MO

The Automotive Technician will have a strong background in automotive service and repair, with an emphasis on working with diesel vehicles and familiarity with buses. The Automotive Technician plays a crucial role in diagnosing and fixing vehicle issues, completing routine maintenance services and ensuring that all repairs meet the highest standards of quality and safety. Shift: 8‑hour shifts Monday through Friday 8 AM – 5 PM.

• Identify mechanical problems, often by using computerized diagnostic equipment.
• Test parts and systems to ensure that they are working properly.
• Follow checklists to ensure that all critical parts are examined.
• Perform basic care and maintenance, including changing oil, giving tune‑ups, checking fluid levels, and rotating tires.
• Repair or replace worn parts, such as brake pads and wheel bearings.
• Disassemble and reassemble parts.
• Use testing equipment to ensure that repairs and maintenance are effective.
• Perform road test upon completion of repairs.

• Work inside enclosed vehicles, such as buses and vans. Often working in cramped work spaces underneath vehicles requires getting into awkward positions.
• Regularly wear protective gear, such as goggles or earplugs.
• Exposed to contaminants, such as antifreeze and chemical degreasers, daily.
• Exposed to sounds and noise levels that are distracting and uncomfortable daily.
• May be exposed to inadequate lighting conditions.
• May sometimes work in cold or hot temperatures, depending on the work locale.
• May work near others, such as when sharing the same space in a garage.
• Occasionally required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; talk or hear.
• Occasionally lift or move office products and supplies, up to 50 pounds.

• High School diploma or GED.
• 1–5 years of mechanical experience.
• Valid Driver's License.

• CDL preferred or obtainable within 6 months.
