We are seeking an Industrial Engineer to support manufacturing operations through line balancing, throughput improvement, productivity enhancements, and process optimization
. This role will focus on improving labor efficiency, reducing waste, supporting quality initiatives, and driving continuous improvement across production operations.
The Industrial Engineer will work closely with production teams, supervisors, and cross-functional stakeholders in a fast-paced union manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities- Perform line balancing and throughput improvement activities to increase productivity.
- Evaluate production processes and recommend improvements to optimize labor and material utilization.
- Review statistical data and product specifications to establish performance and reliability objectives.
- Develop and implement process improvement initiatives focused on cost reduction and efficiency.
- Analyze manufacturing workflows, material flow, and operations sequencing.
- Support quality initiatives by identifying root causes and implementing corrective actions.
- Collaborate with production leadership to develop operational standards and best practices.
- Review production schedules and engineering specifications to support manufacturing targets.
- Provide recommendations to improve utilization of personnel, materials, and resources.
- Support layout updates and process changes using layout/design software tools.
- Participate in daily production and quality meetings as needed.
- Ability to work fully onsite in a manufacturing environment.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills (high interaction role).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving ability.
- Exposure to manufacturing processes through internships or hands-on experience.
- Experience using layout design software such as AutoCAD or Solid Works
. - Prior experience supporting union manufacturing operations.
- Automotive manufacturing experience is strongly preferred.
- Ability to interpret technical drawings, process flow diagrams, and production layouts.
- Line balancing and production throughput analysis
- Process improvement / lean manufacturing exposure
- Layout and manufacturing design tools (AutoCAD/Solid Works preferred)
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Ability to work cross-functionally with production teams
This is a hands-on role supporting a manufacturing floor environment. Daily work includes reviewing priorities, supporting production teams, attending plant meetings, and driving improvement initiatives.
