Maintenance Engineer

Assists with the improvement of processes in the manufacturing plant, focusing on machine performance. Evaluates existing processes and identifies opportunities for quality or efficiency improvement, as well as cost‑savings measures. Responsibilities are broad in scope but include troubleshooting and repair of all production equipment including injection molders, blow molders, fillers/cappers, labelers, case packers, conveyors, palletizers, and stretch wrappers. The Maintenance Engineer works directly with machine Operators, Supervisors, Preventative Maintenance Mechanics and Sr.

Maintenance Technicians to resolve mechanical issues that arise during shift.

Essential Functions
  • Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems using schematics, technical drawings and testing equipment.
  • Conduct tests throughout all stages to determine control over applicable variables and troubleshoot/solve production problems.
  • Process optimization along with the maintenance of existing programs.
  • Assist with JSA and develop procedures to ensure workplace safety.
  • Provide technical support to technicians and management.
  • Develop and provide training to Managers, Supervisors and operators on new processes and maintain documentation.
  • Maintain current knowledge of emerging hardware and software technologies.
  • Create and report repairs throughout shift, complete required work order paperwork, and document parts and material usage.
  • Key contributor to ensuring overall plant safety, being an active advocate for team member safety. Drive to continuously improve safety behaviors, environment and culture. Be a vocal safety advocate in all plant management meetings and initiatives.

Qualifications
  • Minimum Qualifications:
    • 1 year – Experience in Field or similar manufacturing environment
    • 1 year – Experience in Position
    • 1 year – Experience managing people/projects
  • Experience may include a combination of work experience and education
  • Preferred Qualifications:
    • 2 Years – Experience in Field or similar manufacturing environment
    • 2 Years – Experience working in Position
    • 2 Years – Experience managing people/projects

Competencies
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively and resolve issues across multiple departments
  • Basic experience with Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook
  • Effective communication of issues and solutions to cross‑functional team members
  • Ability to read and interpret schematics: electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic
  • Skilled in the use of shop equipment such as hydraulic and mechanical presses, bench grinder, drill press, mill and lathe, and assorted power tools
  • Proficient skills with precision measuring equipment, such as calipers, dial indicators, bore gauges, and depth gauges
  • Willingness to be a technical leader and trainer within a specific area of plant or machine center
  • Will need own toolbox and basic tools

    • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or other related technical field
