Who are we hiring?
We are seeking a visionary Director, Marketing to lead our charge in cultivating passionate, engaged fans and driving exponential growth for the KC Current, CPKC Stadium, and our expanding portfolio of sports and entertainment ventures.
Reporting directly to the Chief Marketing Officer, this isn’t just a marketing role; it’s a strategic fan and brand growth engine. You’ll be the architect of our fan acquisition and retention strategies, transforming audience insights into actionable and measurable business impact. This role will be the champion and keeper of the brand ensuring that the voice of the brand is consistently reflected in all external communications and touch points, and ensures compliance with copyright, trademark, and licensing regulations and Kansas City Current Guidelines.
What will you do?
- Craft & Execute Growth-Driven Brand Strategies:Collaborate with leadership to define and amplify the KC Current and CPKC Stadium brands, developing innovative marketing campaigns and delivering measurable fan growth.
- Uncover Fan DNA:Partner with Data & Analytics to design and implement research initiatives that reveal deeper fan behavior, motivations, and media consumption. Translate these findings into hyper-targeted strategies to drive attendance, engagement, and loyalty.
- Lead & Inspire:Oversee a high-performing team of marketing professionals, providing mentorship, coaching, and development opportunities. Foster a culture of innovation and impactful results.
- Command Paid Media for Maximum Impact:Serve as the strategic lead for our media buying agency, defining overarching media strategies and ensuring execution across all channels (TV, radio, OOH, social, digital, print, etc.) to drive brand awareness and business objectives.
- Amplify Engagement with Social & Digital Media:Strategically plan and execute social media boosting initiatives to skyrocket follower growth, boost retail sales, and penetrate new, incremental markets and audiences.
- Develop Engaging Messaging & Creative:Collaborate with Content & Creative teams to build compelling brand narratives and creative briefs that inspire breakthrough campaigns, activations, and advertising designed to resonate deeply with our target audiences and drive key business outcomes (revenue, CRM growth).
- Drive Promotional Excellence:Oversee the development and execution of dynamic promotional and advertising plans that directly fuel ticketing, retail, and event sales for the KC Current and CPKC Stadium.
- Innovate with Corporate Partners:Collaborate with Corporate Partnerships to co-create and deliver impactful, value-driven partner activations that enhance the fan experience and deliver measurable ROI.
- Guardian of Brand Integrity:Ensure unwavering brand consistency and compliance across all touchpoints. Be the champion of the brand voice, ensuring adherence to copyright, trademark, and licensing regulations with a zero-tolerance approach to unauthorized IP.
What do you need to succeed?
- 8+ years of proven marketing expertise, with a strong track record in developing and executing brand strategies that drive growth, ideally within the sports or entertainment sector.
- 5+ years of demonstrated leadership experience, effectively managing and developing early-career marketing talent.
