About the RoleAt the Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art, we believe art has the power to transform, challenge, and inspire. Our Strategic Marketing Solutions team works to connect audiences with exhibitions, programs, and experiences across the museum campus.
As the Brand & Content Marketing Intern
, you will gain hands‑on experience supporting digital and community marketing initiatives. This internship provides an opportunity to contribute to real marketing campaigns while learning how a major cultural institution promotes programs, exhibitions, and public events.
As a Brand & Content Marketing Intern, you will support the Brand & Content team with marketing operations, digital content updates, and campaign evaluation.
Responsibilities include:
- Digital Content Support: Assist with selecting and resizing photos for digital marketing channels including email newsletters, website pages, and digital advertising.
- Website Updates: Help maintain and update website content to ensure information about exhibitions, programs, and museum offerings is accurate and current.
- Event Promotion: Assist with placing museum events on the museum calendar as well as on community calendars and “things to do” listings across Kansas City.
- Community Marketing Distribution: Help research, coordinate, and distribute physical marketing materials such as brochures, flyers, and rack cards to community partners and local businesses.
- Marketing Analytics Support: Assist with campaign evaluation by helping create dashboards and gather analytics from email, website, and social media channels.
Education & Experience
- Student interested in pursuing a career in marketing, communications, or digital media.
- Experience working in an office or professional environment preferred.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize projects.
- Interest in digital marketing and audience engagement.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
- Familiarity with website or email marketing tools such as Word Press or Mailchimp is helpful.
- Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office.
