In the broad spectrum of full-service to specialist agencies, VOLTAGE is a highly-specialized agency serving a wide range of industries, with a strong concentration in B2B. We specialize in search marketing and website development.
As a specialist agency, our value to our clients is in quality over quantity and outcomes over outputs. Our communication style with clients is more consultative in nature, and gives clients access to our subject matter experts to build trust, credibility, and confidence in our work. Our projects and retainers are highly focused on building a quantifiable path toward a client’s return on investment goal, which is key for businesses operating in industries with longer conversion cycles and higher conversion values.
Despite the more in-depth client communication and expertise-driven deliverables, the VOLTAGE crew remains a fun, tight-knit group of growth-oriented and friendly people. We aim to draw clear lines around how much client work we need to do, and preserve time for professional development, innovation, team building, and determining the direction of our agency as a group. Additionally, each team member has direct access and regular communication with agency leadership to ensure every perspective is heard.
RoleWe’re hiring a Search Marketing Lead to guide and execute search marketing campaigns for our clients as a player coach who is hands‑on in expertise-driven aspects of campaigns while delegating more granular tasks to team members. For a typical search marketing client, this includes:
- Supporting VOLTAGE’s Vice President of Strategy in business development efforts, particularly by reviewing search marketing‑related proposals to ensure realistic expectations for deliverables, communication, and performance are set.
- Assessing a client’s SEM and SEO efforts—including identifying problems, documenting solutions, and presenting findings to the client—in the following categories:
- Search Engine Marketing (primarily in Google Ads)
- The media-related factors that can help or hurt a client’s potential to generate impressions and clicks in search engines.
- The conversion rate‑related factors that can help or hurt a website’s potential to convert qualified users into leads.
- Search Engine Optimization (primarily in Google Search)
- The content‑related, or “on‑page”, factors that can help or hurt a website’s potential to generate impressions and clicks in search engines and LLMs.
- The local‑related factors that can help or hurt a client’s local listings, reputation, and performance for localized searches in search engines.
- The technical‑related, or “off‑page”, factors that can help or hurt a website’s ability to be crawled and indexed by search engines and LLMs.
- The conversion rate‑related factors that can help or hurt a website’s potential to convert qualified users into leads.
- Researching opportunities for increased visibility and engagement in SERPs and LLMs that support a client’s quantified business goal in the following ways:
- Identifying qualified search topics, keywords, and intents that a client can realistically rank for in paid and organic positions with long‑term search campaign execution.
- Creating long‑term search campaign plans with on‑page, off‑page, local, and media efforts ranking from implementing solutions to problems found in assessments to producing new website content to rank for target keywords found in research.
- Executing a client’s search campaign based on the above assessment and research within a month‑to‑month reporting cadence and balancing focus between tactics based on urgency and importance in the following ways:
- Monitoring a client’s website, local listings, and paid search campaigns for new problems, and implementing solutions as needed.
- Optimizing a client’s website, local listings, and paid search campaigns for increased visibility, engagement, and qualified lead generation.
- Producing new website content to rank for target search topics, keywords, and intents.
