Alt Cap is seeking a Fund Development Coordinator to play a vital role in securing and managing funding that supports our mission of empowering underestimated entrepreneurs. This position will be responsible for researching, writing, and managing grant proposals; coordinating fundraising initiatives; preparing fund award documentation; and ensuring compliance with grantor requirements. The ideal candidate is a compelling writer, strategic thinker, and detail-oriented professional who is passionate about community development and economic equity.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Research and identify grant opportunities from federal, state, local, foundation, and corporate funding sources that align with Alt Cap's mission and strategic priorities
  • Write, prepare, and submit compelling grant proposals, letters of inquiry, and funding applications that effectively communicate Alt Cap's programs, impact, and funding needs
  • Develop and maintain grant proposals for CDFI Fund programs, New Markets Tax Credits (NMTC), and other specialized financing programs
  • Collaborate with program staff, leadership, and finance team to gather data, success stories, and financial information necessary for grant applications
  • Maintain a comprehensive grants calendar to track Final date to receive applicationss, reporting requirements, and renewal opportunities
  • Assist in cultivating relationships with current and prospective funders, including foundations, corporations, and government agencies
  • Prepare materials for board meetings, funder presentations, and stakeholder reports
  • Report and manage all grant proceeds.
  • Support the organization's overall fundraising strategy in coordination with leadership and the development team
  • Assist in planning and executing fundraising campaigns, donor cultivation activities, and special events
  • Help maintain and expand Alt Cap's donor database, ensuring accurate records of contributions, communications, and engagement activities
  • Prepare donor acknowledgment letters, impact reports, and stewardship communications to strengthen relationships with individual and institutional supporters
  • Support the identification and research of major gift prospects, including individual donors, corporate partners, and philanthropic organizations
  • Assist in developing fundraising materials such as case statements, campaign collateral, and annual reports
  • Track fundraising metrics and prepare regular reports on development activities, revenue trends, and donor retention
  • Collaborate with marketing and communications teams to create compelling stories and content that inspire donor engagement and support
QUALIFICATIONS Required
  • Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in grant writing, fundraising, or fund development for a nonprofit organization, preferably at a CDFI or community development organization
  • Proven track record of successfully securing grants from foundations, corporations, and/or government agencies
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with the ability to craft compelling, persuasive narratives
  • Strong research and analytical skills with attention to detail
  • Excellent organizational and project management abilities with capacity to manage multiple deadlines simultaneously
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and database management systems
  • Understanding of financial statements, budgets, and budget development
  • Commitment to Alt Cap's mission of empowering underserved entrepreneurs and building inclusive economic opportunity
  • Knowledge of New Markets Tax Credit (NMTC) program and/or SBA programs preferred
  • Experience working with diverse communities and understanding of barriers faced by underestimated entrepreneurs
  • Bilingual skills (Spanish proficiency is a plus)
