The First Presidency Summer Internship is a summer 12-week leadership development experience that connects a young adult interested in church leadership with the executive office of Community of Christ.
Position DescriptionThe First Presidency Summer Internship is a summer 12-week leadership development experience that connects a young adult interested in church leadership with the executive office of Community of Christ. The intern will gain a real sense of how the church operates at the executive level through a combination of exposure (time with the Presidency, conversations with departments, travel to see the church in action) and contribution (working on projects that matter to the Presidency).
Compensation, housing, food allowance, transportation and travel costs provided. Graceland University students have priority, but if no finalist is identified through that pool, other candidates will be considered.

30 hours/week for 12 weeks
Essential Functions- Meets with leaders across IHQ—communications, spiritual formation, finance, HR, legal, international ministries to understand how vision becomes mission
- Identifies a project based on intern’s interests and the Presidency's priorities
- Travels with a member of the First Presidency on one or two trips during the summer
- Good communication skills—verbal and written
- Strategic thinking
- Familiarity with Community of Christ
- Good judgement and discretion
- Flexibility
- Member of Community of Christ
- Holds priesthood in Community of Christ and interested in ministry leadership
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office software

Required TrainingsRegistered Youth Worker/Anti-harassment Training:
New employees are required to be a registered youth worker with Community of Christ or be able to register within 30 days of hire date. Anti-harassment training is also required within 30 days of hire and then required annually.
