The RN in the Neurology Clinic works with providers to help provide education and treatment for diagnoses including seizures, epilepsy, movement disorders, tics and Tourette syndrome, headaches, concussions, and kernicterus. The nurse will be cross‑trained in family‑centered care via phone triage, hands‑on clinical care, and scheduled procedures, with potential cross‑training at our five locations. Call volume is high year‑round, and staffing is adjusted accordingly.
Responsibilities- Utilizes the nursing process to develop and implement a safe, high‑quality, comprehensive, and age‑appropriate plan of care for the patient and family that promotes optimal outcomes.
- Meets the educational needs of the patient and family and advocates for their needs.
- Maintains an environment that is safe, comfortable, efficient, and family‑centered.
- Utilizes current research and evidence for practice to expand personal professional knowledge, enhance role performance, and improve nursing care quality.
- Associate's Degree (ADN) required; current employees hired before September 1, 2013 are grandfathered and may continue in the direct‑care role.
- Bachelor's Degree preferred for nurses hired after September 1, 2013; must complete the degree within five years of hire.
- Licensed RN in Missouri or Kansas, or RN Compact license; must obtain the required license within 30 days.
- Life‑support certifications required upon hire.
- Specialty certification relevant to the unit’s population preferred upon hire.

Pay range begins at $31.00 per hour and is determined by education and experience.
