Job Summary
The Transplant Coordinator functions as a nurse in an expanded role, coordinating all potential transplant patient evaluations and serving as the liaison with the transplant team, nephrologists, consulting services, dialysis facilities, dietitians, and social workers involved with pre‑transplant patients. The coordinator manages preoperative teaching and scheduling for recipients and living donors, coordinates the flow of patients on the UNOS waiting list with OPO, and is available on‑call for recipient donor calls.
TravelRequirements
Travel to Wichita, KS and Springfield, MO once a month is required.
Responsibilities- Coordinate all potential transplant patient evaluations.
- Serve as liaison with the transplant team, nephrologists, consulting services, dialysis facilities, dietitians, and social workers involved with pre‑transplant patients.
- Coordinate and present all preoperative teaching and scheduling for recipients and living donors.
- Coordinate flow of patients on the UNOS waiting list with OPO.
- Be available on‑call for recipient donor calls.
- Registered Nurse (RN) with RN Diploma.
- 3 years minimum experience in nursing or related transplant field.
- Basic Cardiac Life Support certification obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
