We are looking for a Registered Nurse who will support and carry out the administration and management of Nursing Services to residents in accordance with physician orders and the total needs of the residents. In partnership with the Director of Nursing, this RN is responsible for the 24‑hour supervision of Nursing Services and directs the Nursing Department to maintain quality standards of care in accordance with current Federal, State and company standards, guidelines and regulations.
In the absence of the Director of Nursing, the RN assumes responsibility for clinical operations. The position conducts the nursing process—assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation—under the scope of the State’s Nurse Practice Act and Registered Nurse licensure.
- Coordinate plans for the total care of each resident in compliance with physician orders, government regulations and facility resident‑care policies.
- Communicate and interpret policies and procedures to nursing staff, and monitor staff practices and implementation.
- Participate in all admissions decisions, and may visit prospective residents before admissions as needed.
- Participate in daily and weekly management team meetings to discuss resident status, census changes, personnel, or resident complaints or concerns.
- Ensure delivery of compassionate quality care and nursing supervision, evidenced by adequate services and staff coverage, absence of odors, general cleanliness, prevention of pressure wounds and maintenance of optimal resident functions.
- Perform other duties, responsibilities and activities as assigned at any time with or without notice.
- Currently licensed as an RN in the state of practice.
- Associate or Bachelor’s degree from an accredited nursing school required.
- Five years of experience in long‑term or acute health care preferred; at least two years of nursing supervisory experience required.
