Core Charge Nurse – Intermediate Care

5 Sutherland is a general medical/surgical unit caring for patients with renal and liver disease and those requiring inpatient rehabilitation. Patients range in age from neonates to young adults and may include tracheostomy patients and general medical/surgical cases.

• Oversees daily planning, assessment, and decision making to provide the resources necessary for the provision of safe, high‑quality patient and family care in the intermediate care environment.
• Maintains clinical expertise by providing direct patient and family care, working with staff on a regularly scheduled basis.
• Collaborates with the department leadership team in the management of personnel.
• Demonstrates and promotes accountability, communication, relationship management, teamwork, and collaboration with all stakeholders.
• Oversees daily operations in the intermediate care environment to ensure appropriate staffing resources and clinical competencies are available for the department to function successfully.

• Bachelor’s Degree BSN required and 3–5 years of neonatal or pediatric work experience.
• Licensed RN – Missouri or Kansas, or RN Compact license for all other applicable states.
• Required upon hire: life‑support certifications as specified by policy.
• Specialty certification relevant to the unit’s patient population (determined by Nurse Manager/Director) preferred.

The pay range for this position begins at $36.16/hr, with offers determined by education and experience.

Weekday nights: 15%

• Weekend nights: 25% (10% weekend + 15% night)
