OverviewAs a member of the Outpatient Oncology team, the APP's focus is providing care for patients with a variety of oncologic disease processes. This includes but is not limited to the treatment of solid tumors, such as sarcomas, bone tumors and kidney tumors, leukemias, lymphomas, and additional oncology diagnoses. The APP will be a part of a team of providers and nurses, providing direct patient management which includes evaluating patients in the clinic, ordering/interpreting laboratory tests, developing differential diagnoses, and implementing plans of care.
The Oncology APP is expected to work effectively with the medical team by communicating clearly with families, working well with physicians, being a resource to nursing staff, and collaborating with multiple subspecialties within the Hem/Onc Division. We are looking for candidates who have a passion for patient care, teamwork, and enthusiasm to grow their advanced practice career caring for the pediatric oncology population.
The Advanced Practice Registered Nurse I (APRN-I) provides comprehensive, evidence-based advanced practice nursing to address the physiologic, psychosocial, and developmental needs of patients and families within the framework of the collaborative practice agreement. The APRN-I participates in beginning leadership, evidenced-based practice/research, and organizational development activities with the support and direction of an experienced APRN mentor.

- Professional Practice: actively participates in beginning leadership, evidenced-based practice/research, and organizational development activities with the support and direction of an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse mentor.
Qualifications- Master's Degree Required and 1-2 years experience Pediatric RN experience. Exceptions considered on a case-by-case basis within preferred specialty.
- Other DNP preferred and 1-2 years experience Pediatric RN experience. Exceptions considered on a case-by-case basis within preferred specialty.
- Licensed RN - Registered Nurse Multistate License Missouri OR Registered Nurse Multistate License Kansas OR RN Compact license for all states besides KS and MO required upon hire
- Licensed APRN - KS and MO required upon hire
