• The RN liaison communicates with cardiovascular services department personnel and physicians to meet the informational needs of patients and families undergoing cardiac procedures or surgery.
• Maintain primary responsibility for keeping patients and families informed of progress through the procedural process and provide comfort care as appropriate.
• Interact with patients, families, and staff using age-appropriate communication; maintain confidentiality and professionalism.
• Lead scheduling of cardiovascular procedures and testing and perform efficient clerical duties under CV leadership guidance.
• Make routine contacts with patients, physicians, hospital staff, outside health agencies, and community resources.
• Ensure the schedule runs smoothly by reviewing cases for accuracy, identifying conflicts, troubleshooting issues, and confirming the appropriateness of each procedure or test.
• Verify that scheduled cases align with appointment build forms and physician orders.
• Coordinate with physicians, office staff, and others as needed; arrange meetings with vendors or clinical staff when required.
• Provide administrative support for patient care throughout pre- to post-care in alignment with the mission of Research Medical Center.

• Licensure/
  
  Certifications:
  
  Current RN license (Missouri Division of Professional Registration or active compact license). BLS required at hire; ACLS required within 6 months of hire.
• Experience:
  
  Minimum one year in cardiac telemetry, EP lab, Cath lab, procedural or surgical prep and recovery, or ICU experience preferred. Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) must be obtained within 6 months of employment start date.
• Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
• (RN) Registered Nurse
• Registered Nurse Diploma
• No travel required
• Years of experience: 1 year preferred
