Renal/Liver/Rehab Med/Surg RN (5 Sutherland)

5 Sutherland is a general medical/surgical unit that cares for patients with renal and liver disease, and those requiring inpatient rehabilitation. Patients range from neonates to young adults and may have acute kidney or liver injury, end‑stage disease, dialysis, transplant, or musculoskeletal rehabilitation.

• Utilize the nursing process to develop and implement comprehensive, age‑appropriate plans of care for low‑acuity patients and families, promoting optimal outcomes.
• Meet educational and informational needs of low‑acuity patients and families using appropriate teaching principles.
• Promote safe, efficient, family‑centered care for low‑acuity patients.
• Delegate nursing care based on staff qualifications and patient care requirements.

• Associate’s Degree (ADN) required. Employees hired before Sep‑1‑2013 are grandfathered. No experience required; on‑the‑job training provided.
• Bachelor’s Degree preferred; nurses hired after Sep‑1‑2013 without a BSN must complete the degree within 5 years of hire.
• Active licensed RN in Missouri or Kansas (multistate). Related life‑support certifications required upon hire.
• Specialty certification relevant to the unit’s patient population preferred.

Seasonal influenza vaccine is a condition of employment. New employees must be vaccinated against measles, mumps, rubella (MMR), varicella, and have evidence of tetanus, diphtheria, acellular pertussis (Tdap) since 2005. Exemptions may be discussed with Human Resources.

Pay range starts at $31.50 per hour, adjusted based on education and experience.

• Weekday nights: 15%
• Weekend nights: 25% (10% weekend + 15% night)
