Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Cardiac Telemetry Float Pool position requiring at least 18 months of true telemetry/cardiac experience and prior travel assignment experience.

Details
  • Work in the Telemetry unit within a Cardiac Tele Float Pool at a community hospital setting
  • Care for cardiac and neurological patients including pre/post cardiac cath, post cardiac angiogram, post MI, and CVA/stroke patients
  • Perform cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation, and management, including titration of cardiac and vasoactive drips
  • Manage sheaths, TR bands, and other post-cath care
  • Night shift schedule with 3x12 hour shifts from 18:45 to 7:15
  • Every other weekend required
  • Cerner EMR experience required
  • Must be willing to float to all competent units within the facility
  • Must be willing to accept COVID-positive patients
Requirements
  • Active MO RN license or Compact license required
  • Minimum 1 year of RN experience required, with at least 18 months of true telemetry/cardiac experience specifically required
  • Prior travel nursing experience required
  • Community hospital experience required
  • Trauma Level II experience required;
    Trauma Level I and teaching hospital experience preferred
  • Required certifications: ACLS, BLS (AHA), CPI, and NIHSS; TNCC preferred
  • Cerner charting system experience required
  • Must pass an onsite EKG exam on orientation day with a minimum score of 80%, covering lethal rhythm identification
  • Completion of 8 cardiac and 8 stroke CEUs required for this placement
  • At least one professional reference required for consideration
Additional Information
  • Responsibilities include titrating cardiac and vasoactive drips, IV insulin protocol management, wound care, and blood product administration
  • Skilled in respiratory support including BiPAP/CPAP, high flow nasal cannula, and oxygen administration
  • Experience with IV therapy, phlebotomy, PICC line management, and starting/maintaining IVs
  • Navy blue scrubs required
  • Must complete assigned Health Stream education modules prior to start, with ongoing responsibility to monitor email for new module assignments and meet all deadlines
  • No block scheduling will be added to the contract
  • Time off requests submitted after the initial submission will not be approved
  • First-time travelers will not be considered for this position
  • Local candidates accepted at the same pay rate with no radius restriction
  • Previous employees must have a gap of at least 1 year since their last assignment to be eligible for return
