Duties include, but are not limited to:

• Conducting surveillance for healthcare-associated infections (HAIs) and multi-drug resistant organisms (MDROs), analyzing trends and identifying opportunities for improvement.
• Applies knowledge of epidemiology, microbiology, and infection control principles to identify infection risks and recommend evidence-based interventions.
• Collaborates with clinical staff, environmental management, and other services to implement infection prevention and control policies, protocols, and best practices consistent with CDC, VHA, and other accrediting body guidelines.
• Assists in the development, review, and revision of local infection prevention policies and procedures to ensure alignment with national directives and regulatory standards.
• Provide education and training to clinical and non-clinical staff on infection prevention practices, hand hygiene, isolation precautions, and MDRO management.
• Communicates infection prevention trends, risks, and program status to facility leadership and the VISN to support organizational learning and informed decision-making.

Pay:

Preferred Experience:

5 years of nursing experience and previous supervisor experience.
