Job Description
We are hiring a PreOP/PACU Registered Nurse for our Surgical Services Float Pool team. In this position you will work with various conditions, procedures, and acuity levels at our Plaza location, a Magnet Level 1 Trauma Academic Medical Center.
Shift DetailsThis position involves 4–10 hour shifts weekly with a rotating bi‑weekly template. Scheduled locations are decided 4–6 weeks in advance and may include Saint Luke’s Hospital, Saint Luke’s East, Saint Luke’s North, and Saint Luke’s South.
Work / Responsibilities- Functions independently and is accountable for utilizing the nursing process.
- Coordinates the care for a group of patients with the Multidisciplinary Team.
- Delegates tasks appropriately.
- Identifies hospital resources.
- Serves as a clinical resource for new employees.
- Demonstrates positive formal or informal leadership within unit or department.
- 2 years of experience in PreOP/PACU nursing.
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) – American Heart Association or Red Cross.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) – American Heart Association or Red Cross.
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) – American Heart Association or Red Cross.
- Registered Nurse license in Kansas and Missouri (National Council of State Boards of Nursing, NURSYS).
- Associate Degree in Nursing.
