Position Title

Oncology Infusion RN Days - PRN KUCC

- North Kansas City

The Oncology Nurse provides professional nursing care through assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation and evaluation. This role focuses on delivering high‑quality care to patients receiving cancer treatments, including chemotherapy, biotherapy, blood products, and radiation therapy.

• Perform primary and secondary patient assessments and document findings accurately and timely in the medical record.
• Document changes to the identified plan and communicate systematic reports to other care providers.
• Coordinate care delivery, utilizing resources to promote the continuum of care.
• Demonstrate knowledge and skill in all aspects of IV therapy and hydration.
• Implement strategies to promote health in a safe environment and evaluate progress toward outcomes.
• Identify expected interventions and outcomes for individualized plans of care and communicate effectively with patients, families, and team members.
• Manage patient care based on knowledge of cancer, cancer treatment, and side effects.
• Use evidence‑based practice to deliver and improve care; work closely with more experienced clinicians for guidance and supervision.
• Demonstrate knowledge and skills in chemotherapy/biotherapy and blood products (Infusion/Treatment departments). Demonstrate knowledge of radiation therapies and procedures, including side effect and symptom management (Radiation Oncology departments).
• Triage patients and coordinate with providers to ensure care needs are met, performing the professional, clinical, and technical competencies of the assigned unit or department.

• High School Graduate
• Associate Degree in Nursing
• Must complete a BSN within 5 years of hire
• 1 or more years in med‑surg/acute care
• 1 or more years oncology experience

• Bachelor Degree in Nursing
• Any additional oncology experience preferred

• Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS or BCLS) – American Heart Association (AHA)
• Licensed Registered Nurse (LRN) – Multi‑State – State Board of Nursing
• Current active multistate RN license in good standing in the state where the applicant lives

• Chemo Certification – Oncology Nursing Society (ONS) (preferred for Infusion/Treatment departments)
