Registered Nurse (RN) specializing in the Intermediate Care Unit (IMCU) is needed for a day shift in Kansas City, Missouri. This role involves providing quality patient care to a diverse adult and geriatric population within a fast-paced hospital environment. The selected candidate will deliver clinical support, monitor patient progress, and collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure positive outcomes.

  Dayshift, 12-hour shifts, minimum of 36 hours per week
• Required Qualifications:
  
  Valid RN license, BLS (Basic Life Support), NIHSS (National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale) certifications, current clinical experience in an Intermediate Care Unit or similar setting, no minimum years of experience required, must be within 75 miles from the facility, and pending license acceptance is permitted.
• Preferred Qualifications:
  
  Experience with adult and geriatric patient populations, proficiency in interpreting dysrhythmias, management of dysrhythmias, and use of Rapid Response/Code teams.
• Float:
  Regular floating may be required between departments, units, and facilities as needed.

  • No on-call required.
  • 8 weekend shifts over a 6-week schedule period, combining Friday/Saturday/Sunday shifts.
  • Guaranteed hours include 3 shifts per 13 weeks; canceled shifts must be of the regular shift length.
  • Patients primarily include those with postoperative bariatric, urology, hepatobiliary, colorectal, and trauma conditions.
  • Patients management involves complex procedures such as epidural analgesia, PCA, wound vac care, chest tubes, surgical drains, and long-term catheters.
  • Experience with EMR systems, especially Epic, is required.
  • Candidates must follow compliance deadlines, including documentation and modules completion before the start date.
