Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for an Emergency Department position requiring Cerner experience and prior travel nursing experience.

Details
  • Work in the Emergency Department of a Level II Trauma Center
  • General Emergency Department serving combined adult/pediatric population
  • Patient ratio of 1:4
  • Facility is STEMI and Stroke Certified
  • Shift schedule is Day shift, 3x12 hours (10:45-23:15)
  • Required to work every other weekend (Saturday & Sunday) plus at least 2 Mondays and 2 Fridays
  • No block scheduling available
  • Candidates may float to all competent units within the facility
  • Uses Cerner charting system
Requirements
  • Active MO RN license or Compact license required
  • Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
  • Prior travel nursing experience required
  • Cerner charting system experience required
  • Trauma Level II experience required;
    Trauma Level I experience preferred
  • Teaching hospital and community hospital experience preferred
  • Current certifications required: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, PALS, TNCC
  • CPI certification required starting January 2026
  • Must pass an EKG exam with 80% or higher on orientation day, including lethal rhythm identification
  • Must complete required CEUs promptly: 4 stroke, 8 trauma, and 4 cardiac CEUs for ED/ER placements
  • At least one professional reference required for consideration
  • Copies of certifications required for consideration
Additional Information
  • Provide emergency care across a wide range of patient conditions including trauma, cardiac, neurological, respiratory, psychiatric, and pediatric cases
  • Skilled in managing dysrhythmias, obtaining 12-lead EKGs, and administering emergency medications including IV vasopressors
  • Experience with procedural sedation, chest tube management, and interpretation of ABGs is valued
  • Skilled in triage, isolation precautions/PPE, and management of multisystem organ dysfunction
  • Orientation begins with a Tuesday start; ASAP start date
  • Required to complete pre-start Health Stream education modules (non-billable, averaging 8 hours) and monitor email regularly for new assignments and deadlines
  • First-time travelers will not be considered for this position
  • Local candidates accepted at the same pay rate as travelers
  • Previous employees must have a gap of at least one year since their last assignment to be eligible for return
  • 13-week assignment length
