American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Labor and Delivery position requiring Cerner and prior travel experience.

• Work in the Labor and Delivery unit of a hospital with 100-200 births per month
• Patient population includes antepartum, high-risk antepartum, L&D, LDRP, and mother/baby care
• Patient ratio of 1:3
• Night shift schedule (3x12 hours), 18:45-07:15
• Every third weekend required
• Candidates may float to all competent units within the facility
• Uses Cerner EMR

• Active RN license (MO or Compact) required at time of submittal
• Current certifications: ACLS, BLS, NRP, AWHONN Intermediate (AWHONN Advanced preferred)
• CPI certification required starting January 2026
• Minimum 2 years of L&D nursing experience required
• Level II trauma experience required (Level I preferred)
• Prior travel nursing experience required
• Cerner EMR experience required
• Charge nurse experience preferred
• Teaching hospital and community hospital experience preferred
• Skilled in IV therapy, phlebotomy, blood product administration, and central line maintenance (CVC/PICC)
• Experience with high-risk delivery, C-section circulation, and vaginal delivery assistance
• Proficient in fetal monitoring including EFM, IUPC placement, and spiral electrode placement
• Experience administering medications such as anticoagulants, antihypertensives, antiseizure medications, insulin drips, magnesium sulfate, and oxytocin
• Skilled in newborn care including newborn assessment, cord care, and discharge teaching
• Experience with postpartum care including fundus/lochia/perineum care and wound assessment
• At least one professional reference required for consideration

• Responsibilities include triage of obstetrical patients, assisting with high-risk and vaginal deliveries, and providing newborn care in the delivery room
• Provide pain management support including epidural anesthesia and PCA IV use
• Support breastfeeding and lactation education for postpartum patients
• Provide discharge teaching to parents including car seat education and circumcision care
• Unit scrub color is navy blue
• Locals accepted at the same rate with no radius restriction
• First-time travelers will not be considered for this position
• Previous employees must have a gap of at least one year since their last assignment before being eligible to return
