Registered Nurse – Psychiatric

$1836.00/week –

Job Summary:

Provide specialized psychiatric nursing care to patients in a high-acuity mental health setting. Responsible for assessing, planning, and implementing individualized treatment plans to promote patient well-being and safety.

Responsibilities:

• Assess patients’ mental health status by observing behavior, conducting interviews, and utilizing diagnostic tools.
• Develop and modify care plans tailored to patients’ psychiatric and behavioral needs.
• Administer psychiatric medications and monitor for adverse reactions or side effects.
• Provide crisis intervention, de-escalating agitated or suicidal patients using evidence-based techniques.
• Document patient progress accurately in the Meditech system, including vital signs and behavioral observations.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to ensure comprehensive patient care.

Qualifications:

• Active BLS and CPI certifications required.
• Minimum of 1 year of experience in psychiatric or behavioral health nursing.
• Strong assessment skills to identify signs of psychiatric disorders and behavioral problems.
• Ability to develop effective care plans and execute intervention strategies.
• Knowledge of psychotropic medications and monitoring techniques.
• Excellent therapeutic communication and de-escalation skills.
