Registered Nurse – Telemetry

Job Summary:

Provides specialized nursing care to cardiac telemetry patients, ensuring effective monitoring and patient safety. Collaborates with multidisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality, patient-centered care in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities:

• Monitor and interpret cardiac telemetry strips and EKGs to identify arrhythmias and other cardiac events.
• Administer and titrate IV medications such as insulin, Cardizem, Cardene, and Amiodarone according to protocol.
• Perform procedures including IV insertions, NGT placements, chest tube maintenance, and Foley insertions.
• Assess patient condition regularly, respond to alarms promptly, and document findings accurately in the Meditech system.
• Collaborate with healthcare team members to develop and implement individualized care plans.
• Educate patients and families on post-procedure care and use of medical equipment.

Qualifications:

• Valid RN license with current state credentialing.
• Minimum 1-year experience in Cardiac Telemetry, PCU, or ICU.
• Proficiency in reading and interpreting EKGs and telemetry strips.
• Certifications:
  
  ACLS, BLS; NIHSS preferred.
• Demonstrated ability to perform advanced cardiac procedures and monitor patient responses.
• Strong communication and patient advocacy skills.
