The role involves working in a fast-paced environment in a Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit. Responsible for the care and management of critically ill patients post cardiothoracic and vascular surgery. Requires proficiency in supporting complex medical needs including ECMO and ventricular assist devices. Experience with central line care and management, as well as arterial line management is essential. Assist with the care of ventilated patients and provide support for patients with respiratory failure.
Engage in monitoring vital signs and interpreting cardiac dysrhythmias. Must be able to manage high-output drains and participate in the administration of blood products. The position may require floating between different departments and units as needed. Candidate must adhere to isolation precautions and maintain an infection-free environment. Ability to work weekends is required, comprising of 8 shifts over a 6-week schedule.
Regular assessment of patients' urine output and management of dialysis is expected. Strong teamwork ability to collaborate with interdisciplinary support services. Start of employment may require completion of necessary compliance training modules.
