Job DescriptionThis is an OPEN CONTINUOUS ANNOUNCEMENT for V15 Kansas City VA Healthcare System for Registered Nurse. It will remain open to 12/31/2026. Applicants will be reviewed for eligible every 7 days. Eligible applications will be referred at regular intervals or as additional vacancies occur on an as-needed basis until positions are filled. The major duties and responsibilities of a Registered Nurse-(Medical/Surgical) include but are not limited to:
- Responsible and accountable for individual nursing practice and determines the appropriate delegation of tasks consistent with the nurse's obligation to provide optimal care.
- Focus on individual growth and development in practice with increased levels of self-direction. Ability to formulate a plan of care based on nursing assessments.
- Responsible for providing competent, evidence-based care to assigned patients and oversight of licensed vocational nurses/nursing assistants, as appropriate to the setting.
- Assists in directing the provision of nursing education, orientation, competencies and providing quality improvement and outcomes utilization consultation.
- Executes position responsibilities that demonstrate leadership, experience, and creative approaches to management of complex patient care. Collaborates in the development, implementation, evaluation, and revision of policies, procedures, and/or guidelines.
- Demonstrates performance and leadership that is broad enough to improve the care for a group of patients.
- Provides peers with formal or informal constructive feedback for improvement.
- Supports colleagues and other nurses through knowledge sharing to provide safe, quality nursing care.
- Fosters a safe and supportive environment conducive to the professional development of health care professionals.

Pay:
Competitive salary, regular salary increases, potential for performance awards
