Registered Nurse
The RN will provide care in Labor, Delivery, Recovery, and Postpartum settings. Shifts are scheduled for 3 nights per week from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM. The RN will work with a patient ratio of 1:1 to 1:3. Experience in community hospitals is preferred. First-time travelers are not accepted for this position. The RN will be required to work holiday shifts and may be assigned charge nurse responsibilities as needed.
Weekend rotations will include 4-6 weekend shifts and 2 Fridays every 6-week schedule. The RN is expected to manage pain effectively, including administering epidural and general anesthesia as needed. Responsibilities include various skills such as IV therapy, phlebotomy, labor and delivery management, postpartum care, and neonatal care. The RN should be proficient in medication administration, including antihypertensives, magnesium sulfate therapy, pitocin, and more.
The position requires competence in fetal monitoring, assessment of abnormal fetal heart rates, and neonatal resuscitation. Additional responsibilities include performing sterile vaginal exams, assisting with vaginal deliveries and C-sections, and providing patient education on newborn care and breastfeeding support. The RN will provide full couplet care and may be required to float between departments as necessary. On-call duties will require 2 mandatory shifts every 6 weeks.
Ongoing compliance requirements and training will be expected prior to start. This role does not accept local candidates within a 75-mile radius. The candidate must be willing to fulfill all job responsibilities and agreements throughout the contract duration.
