American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a PCU/Telemetry position requiring 2 years of recent specialty experience and an active Missouri or compact RN license.
Details- Work in the Progressive Care Unit (PCU) with settings including MS/Tele, Cardiac Telemetry, ER Holding, Neuro Stepdown, and PCU/DOU/IMC/Stepdown
- Night shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts from 18:45 to 07:15
- 1:5 patient ratio
- Weekend requirement of 8 shifts within a 6-week schedule, combination of Friday/Saturday/Sunday
- Holiday shifts and charge RN assignments required as needed per unit
- Regular floating required between departments, units, and facilities, including the Emergency Department for inpatient holding
- No on-call requirements
- Epic EMR experience preferred
- Active RN license
- Missouri or compact required;
Kansas license also required due to floating needs - Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
- Minimum 2 years of recent specialty experience, including a full year within the past 12 months with no employment gaps greater than 90 days
- Previous charge RN and teaching hospital experience preferred
- Proficiency in IV therapy including central line, PICC line, and blood product administration
- Experience managing cardiac drips, insulin protocols, and heparin protocols
- Skilled in respiratory care including BiPAP/CPAP, HFNC, and tracheostomy management
- Experience with wound care, wound vac, and isolation precautions
- Two professional references required, one from a supervisor and one from a charge RN, both from within the past year
- Social Security number required at time of consideration
- Responsible for cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, and use of rapid response teams
- Provides care for post-cardiac, post-MI, and pre/post cardiac catheterization and surgery patients
- Manages renal failure and pre/post hemodialysis patients
- Performs feeding tube care, surgical drain management, and peripheral nerve block catheter care
- Candidates must reside at least 75 miles from the facility to be considered
- Maximum RTO allowed is 7 days
- Pending license candidates are not accepted
