Registered Nurse In Behavioral Health

This position requires the assessment of patients' mental health status. Candidates should recognize signs of psychiatric disorders, substance use, and behavioral problems. Responsibilities include taking thorough patient histories and observing behavior. The role involves using diagnostic tools for care planning. Nurses will develop individualized care plans based on patients' needs. They will set goals, implement interventions, and evaluate outcomes. Medication management is also a key responsibility.

This includes administering psychiatric medications and monitoring for side effects. Crisis intervention skills are necessary for providing immediate support to patients. Techniques for de-escalation and medication management are critical in this role. Therapeutic communication is essential for building trust and rapport with patients. Monitoring patients for physical and psychological symptoms is required. This includes tracking vital signs and mental status changes.

Candidates must follow unit protocols and guidelines. The work environment emphasizes integrity, compassion, and respect for all patients. Developing relationships through effective communication is a crucial part of patient care.
