Crisis intervention skills, including de-escalation techniques. Ability to assess mental health status, recognizing signs of psychiatric disorders, substance use, and behavioral problems. Knowledge of psychotropic medications and medication management. Effective therapeutic communication skills, including active listening and empathy.
Description:
This position offers guaranteed hours per week. The unit consists of multiple sections, including adolescent and adult populations with varying acuity levels. Patient ratios are established to maintain optimal care. Documentation is managed through an electronic health record system. Staffing requires coverage for three 12-hour shifts daily, including weekends. Days off are not guaranteed unless specified. Crisis intervention requires immediate and short-term support to patients in distress.
The role includes developing individualized care plans based on patient needs. Monitoring patients for physical and psychological symptoms is essential. Candidates should possess the ability to build trust and rapport with patients. This position includes opportunities for professional growth within a supportive team environment.
