Job Summary:

Provide specialized psychiatric nursing care to patients in a dynamic behavioral health setting. Utilize clinical expertise to assess, develop care plans, and manage medications for individuals experiencing mental health crises.

Responsibilities:

• Assess patients' mental health status by observing behaviors, taking histories, and using diagnostic tools.
• Develop and implement individualized care plans to address patients' psychiatric needs.
• Administer psychiatric medications, monitor for side effects, and ensure safety protocols are followed.
• Provide crisis intervention by de-escalating behaviors, managing immediate risks, and supporting patients in distress.
• Maintain detailed documentation of patient progress, symptoms, and interventions in the Meditech system.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive patient care and recovery.

Qualifications:

• Hold active BLS and CPI certifications.
• Demonstrate ability to assess and respond to psychiatric emergencies effectively.
• Possess strong therapeutic communication skills, including empathy and active listening.
• Have a minimum of 1 year of psychiatric nursing experience.
• Be able to work 12-hour shifts, including weekends, with flexibility for floating as needed.
• Ability to evaluate treatment outcomes and adjust care strategies accordingly.
