School Nurse; Licensed Practical Nurse; Kansas , MO

Step into a rewarding contract opportunity supporting students with complex medical needs in a dynamic school environment near Kansas City, MO. As a licensed practical nurse, your expertise will be vital in a setting designed to provide exceptional, individualized care to a small but high-acuity caseload of around 50 students. You'll work collaboratively with another nurse onsite, ensuring continuous support and safety for students throughout the school day.

Your daily responsibilities will include administering feedings, supporting toileting needs, managing seizures, assisting students with g-tubes and wheelchairs, and performing necessary lifting. You'll be a classroom nurse, moving between rooms to deliver care directly and engaging closely with teachers and staff to ensure students receive what they need to thrive.

Desired Qualifications and

Experience:

• Active LPN or LVN license
• Prior pediatric, school, or similar high-need nursing experience strongly preferred
• Comfortable with g-tube feeding, seizure protocols, wheelchair support, and lifting
• Ability to respond quickly and compassionately to emergent health needs
• Strong communication skills for collaborating with staff, students, and families

What Youll Do:

• Provide hands-on medical support for up to 9 students requiring g-tube feedings
• Assist students with mobility and toileting needs as needed
• Monitor for and respond to seizures and other urgent medical situations
• Travel between classrooms, delivering care directly where students are learning
• Keep detailed records of health interventions and care provided

This is a full-time position with hours from 8:30 am to 4:30 pm, Monday through Friday, and is available for an immediate start.
