American Traveler is seeking a Senior Psych RN for a 13-week night shift assignment requiring active CPI certification and MO or compact RN licensure.
Requirements- Active MO or compact RN license required
- BLS and CPI certifications required
- Minimum 1 year of recent psychiatric nursing experience required
- Skilled in mental health assessment, crisis intervention, and de-escalation techniques
- Knowledge of psychotropic medication management required
- Strong therapeutic communication and patient rapport-building skills required
- No gaps in work history of 90 days or more within the past 12 months
- US Social Security Number and date of birth required for consideration
- Two professional references required for Missouri assignments
- Rotates across multiple behavioral health units including Adolescent, Serenity, ITU, SRAD, and Vine
- Serves diverse psychiatric populations including adolescents (12-18), lower and higher acuity adults, and senior adult patients
- Nurse to patient ratio is 8:1, with MHT ratio of 12:1
- Uses Meditech documentation system
- Night shift schedule from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
- Coverage required for three 12-hour shifts daily, seven days a week, including weekends
- Floating utilized based on greatest facility need
- No on-call requirements
- Responsible for assessing psychiatric and behavioral health status, developing individualized care plans, and monitoring patient outcomes
- Administers psychiatric medications and monitors for side effects
- Provides crisis intervention and de-escalation support for patients in acute distress
- Follows HCA's ICARE values and AIDET communication framework to enhance patient experience
- Dress code requires RNs to wear blue scrubs and MHTs to wear green or black
- Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility; local candidates are not accepted
