Travel RN - Pediatrics

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an Outpatient Pediatric Neurology Clinic position requiring both Missouri/compact and Kansas RN licensure and prior travel nursing experience.

• Active RN license, either individual state or compact, required for both Missouri and Kansas at time of consideration
• Pending licenses are not accepted
• BLS and PALS certification (AHA only; RQI certifications not accepted)
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience
• Minimum 1 year of travel nursing experience required
• Pediatric experience required
• Neurology experience preferred
• Epic charting experience required
• Skilled in patient assessment, vital signs, medication administration, and patient education
• Experience with office duties such as scheduling, referrals, insurance verification, and telephone triage
• Two supervisor-level professional references completed within the last 12 months required for consideration
• Date of birth and Social Security number required for consideration

• Outpatient clinic setting within a pediatric neurology department
• Patient population consists mostly of stable pediatric patients presenting for new and follow-up visits
• Day shift, Monday through Friday, with varied 8-10 hour shifts including coverage from
• No nights or weekends required
• Set schedules with changes discussed in advance as they arise
• Uses Epic for charting
• Floating required between the Missouri and Kansas hospital campuses (approximately 12 miles apart)
• Provide outpatient nursing care to pediatric neurology patients, including assessments, vital signs, medication administration, and patient/family education
• Perform clinical support duties such as chart preparation, insurance verification, referrals, and scheduling
• Recognize and respond appropriately to signs of altered level of consciousness or abuse
• Must complete a medication/dosage competency test during the first week with a required 100% pass rate (up to three attempts allowed)
• Facility is a smoke-free and nicotine-free campus with nicotine testing required
• Scrubs must be any child-friendly color or print
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Those contracted for the main Missouri campus may begin with a pending Kansas license if documentation of application is provided
