Job Summary:

Registered Nurse (RN) specializing in Labor and Delivery (L&D) located in Kansas City, Missouri. This position involves providing comprehensive care to obstetric patients in a community hospital setting, including antepartum, intrapartum, delivery, and postpartum care. The role requires collaboration within a multidisciplinary team to ensure safe and effective maternal and neonatal outcomes over a 12-hour night shift schedule.

Job Details:

• Schedule:
  
  12-hour night shifts, minimum of 36 hours per week, starting on 09/08/2026.
• Required Qualifications:
  
  Valid RN license, 3 years of experience in labor and delivery, community hospital experience preferred, current certifications including BLS, FHM, NRP.
• Preferred Qualifications:
  
  AWHONN Advanced and Intermediate certifications, experience assisting with high-risk deliveries, scrub for C-section procedures.
• Certifications:
  
  BLS (Basic Life Support), FHM (Fetal Heart Monitoring), NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program).
• Skills:
  
  Administration of blood and blood products, labor management procedures including assist with vaginal delivery and circulating for C-section, neonatal care including APGAR scoring and resuscitation, postpartum assessments, fetal monitoring, and pain management techniques such as epidural anesthesia.
• Additional Responsibilities:
  Providing comprehensive care in antepartum, intrapartum, postpartum, and neonatal settings. Performing surgical procedures like C-sections and tubal ligations, managing high-risk pregnancies, and ensuring adherence to hospital protocols and safety standards.
• On-Call Requirement:
  Yes, with 2 mandatory on-call shifts every 6-week schedule period.
• Float Policy: RN is expected to care for any patient within the scope on the LDRP unit; floating between units and facilities may be required as needed.
• Unit Details:
  Staffing includes antepartum, mother/baby, and nursery care settings with a daily census of approximately 10 patients, primarily low-risk, with a focus on vaginal births and cesarean sections.
• Patient Age Groups:
  Neonates, adolescents, and adults.
• Facility Type:
  Acute care/hospital with 74 staffed beds.
• Charting System:
  Epic required.
• Parking:
  Free.
• RTO Restrictions:
  No more than 7 days of RTO; RTO must be finalized at submission.
• Compliance:
  Required documentation due 2 Fridays prior to start date, completion of modules and labs within specified timelines, and Epic training completed pre-start.
• Additional Unit Information:
  Includes antenatal testing, external cephalic version, post-op gynecology care, postpartum care including breastfeeding support, and postpartum complications management.
