Job Description

The Medical Support Specialist (Plasma Center Nurse) supports the daily operations of a Plasma Donation Center under the guidance of the Center Manager and Center Physician.

This position is responsible for determining donor eligibility, managing donor adverse events, reviewing laboratory test results, and notifying donors of unsuitable test results. Additional duties include supporting vaccination programs, managing employee incidents, and acting as a Pandemic Coordinator when required.

• Determine donor eligibility through informed consent, medical history interview, physical examination, and blood testing.
• Review and document serological protein electrophoresis (SPE) results.
• Evaluate donor reactions and follow SOPs for medical emergencies, including coordinating with the Center Physician and emergency care facilities.
• Refer unacceptable findings to the Center Physician or Medical Affairs for further guidance.
• Support the Hepatitis B and seasonal flu vaccination programs for employees.
• Manage employee incidents and determine if occupational health evaluation is needed.
• Serve as a Pandemic Coordinator and assist with investigations related to pandemic threats when authorized by EHS.

• High school diploma or equivalent, including a recognized nursing program with state requirements.
• Current license or certification in the state of assignment (LPN or LVN).
• Current CPR and AED certification.
• State requirement for basic IV therapy.
• Completion of FDA‑approved training for Bio Life Medical Support Specialist.
• Two years clinical or hospital experience.

U.S. hourly wage range: $24.32 - $33.44, adjusted based on qualifications, experience and location.
