American Traveler is hiring a Cardiac Telemetry RN for a night shift seasonal assignment requiring prior cardiac telemetry or PCU/ICU experience.

• 29-bed Cardiac Telemetry unit on a main hospital campus
• Patient ratio of 1:4 supported by Charge Nurse, Unit Secretary, and PCTs
• Equipment includes Alaris IV pumps, SCD machines, Hill Rom beds, dinamap monitors, Welch Allyn vital machines, wound vacs, temporary pacemakers, telemetry monitors, EKG machines, bladder scanners, and dopplers
• Uses Meditech documentation system
• Night shift schedule from 7PM to 7AM
• Full time hours required including 3 weekend shifts per scheduling period
• Floating required to units where competency has been demonstrated
• Uses Imobile for team communication

• Active RN license (MO or Compact) currently in hand
• Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS
• Minimum 1 year of recent Cardiac Telemetry or PCU/ICU experience required
• Ability to read and interpret EKGs and telemetry strips
• Experience with post cardiac procedural care including ablations, cardiac catheterizations, Post Op Day 1 open heart, and permanent pacemaker placements
• Ability to administer and titrate IV medications such as insulin, Cardizem, Cardene, and Amiodarone
• Experience with IV insertions, NGT placement and maintenance, chest tube maintenance, temporary pacemakers, and Foley insertions
• US SSN and DOB required for consideration
• Two professional references required for Missouri placements
• No employment gaps of 90 days or more within the past 12 months

• Deliver direct patient care within a fast-paced Cardiac Telemetry environment
• Engage in patient experience initiatives including bedside shift report involvement and responsive call light service
• Required to wear Navy Blue scrubs, with black scrub pants permitted if paired with a Navy Blue top
• Join a tenured and family-like unit culture with strong staff retention history
• Unit has received AHA recognition for Get With The Guidelines-Heart Failure GOLD PLUS with Honor Roll
• Must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility; local candidates are not accepted
