American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg RN for an Ortho/Trauma unit requiring at least 1 year of recent ortho/trauma experience and an active MO or compact RN license.

• 23-bed Ortho/Trauma unit within a Level 1 Trauma Center and Comprehensive Stroke Center
• Patient ratios of 1:4 to 1:5
• Supported by unit secretaries and patient care techs
• Equipment used includes traction, fixators, and cooling equipment
• Uses Meditech documentation system
• Cares for post-op knee, hip, and shoulder replacement patients, trauma patients, and some neuro overflow cases
• Schedule consists of three 12-hour shifts with three weekend shifts per schedule period
• 7A-7P shift schedule
• Contract labor floats first, to other Med/Surg level units including General MS, Nephrology, and Neuro/Trauma

• Active RN license (MO or Compact) required
• BLS certification required
• Minimum 1 year of recent experience in Ortho/Trauma or related specialty required
• Telemetry experience preferred
• NIH Stroke Scale experience helpful
• US Social Security Number and date of birth required for consideration (no Canadian SSN accepted)
• Two professional references required for Missouri placements
• No employment gaps of 90 days or more within the past 12 months

• Provide direct patient care including bedside shift report and hourly rounding
• Navy scrubs required as part of dress code
• Must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible for the travel position
• First-time travelers may be considered
