OverviewDelivers expert and technically proficient, scientifically based nursing care to sexual assault patients. Performs medical/forensic exams, collects evidence, and provides trauma informed care for these patients under the supervision of the Child Adversity Resilience and ED/Urgent Care Physician. Is an active participant in professional activities, such as quality improvement projects/teams, research/publishing, in-service presentations, etc. Acts as subject matter expert within Children's Mercy and in collaboration with community partners.

If you are selected for this position, you will be asked to supply your immunization records as proof of vaccination. If you have any concerns about receiving these vaccines, medical and/or religious exemptions can be further discussed with Human Resources.
- Performs the forensic/medical exams in cases of alleged sexual abuse under the supervision of the Child Adversity and Resilience and/or ED and/or Providers in collaboration with the healthcare team.
- Meets the educational needs of the patient, family and staff, utilizing principles of teaching/learning
- Delivers therapeutic, safe and efficient care
- Attends education programs, unit meetings, peer review and maintains mandatory certifications.
- Associate's Degree ADN Required.
- Current employees hired before September 1, 2013 are grandfathered and permitted to continue in the direct care nursing role.
- 1-2 years of experience working in pediatrics or
- Bachelor's Degree BSN preferred for all nurses hired after September 1, 2013.
- Nurses hired after this date without a BSN must complete their degree within 5 years of their hire date.

- One of the following required upon hire:
- Licensed RN - Kansas, Registered Nurse Multistate License Kansas
- Licensed RN - MO, Registered Nurse Multistate License Missouri
- RN Compact license for all states besides KS and MO
