As a Regulatory Specialist you are responsible for managing all aspects of the label creation, review and approval process using SAP, Genesis and project management tools. Additionally, this position is responsible for assisting with our supplier documentation compliance using Trace Gains. This role reports to the Manager, Regulatory & Compliance as part of the Food Safety and Quality Assurance team.
What You Will Be Doing…- Create labels using current FDA Regulatory and CFR guidance for new and updated products.
- Review labels as requested by cross functional partners ensuring Regulatory label compliance.
- Route labels for edits as needed to cross functional team and review edits as required.
- Maintain project trackers impacting business for large scale updates across the portfolio.
- Develop ingredient copies for label creation in conjunction with cross functional partners.
- Assist with supplier documentation compliance using Trace Gains.
- Attend business meetings to assist with Regulatory feedback to cross functional partners.
- Perform audits of labels and packaging as requested by operations.
- Create label information for digital assets.
- Audit SAP for allergen labeling compliance.
- Manage communication to operations for label updates.
- Support additional projects as assigned.
- Serve as backup to the Manager, Regulatory & Compliance, providing support and coverage for key responsibilities as needed.
- Adhere to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) to ensure product quality and maintain compliance with food safety standards.
- Complete and follow FSQA training and programs to comply with regulatory requirements, ensure consumer safety, and support the plant’s food safety and quality objectives.
- Promptly report and take appropriate action on any observed or potential food safety hazards, process deviations, or non-conformities by notifying the designated plant supervisor, in accordance with your role and responsibilities.
- Actively contributes to the continuous improvement of the company’s Food Safety Culture through engagement and actions aligned with your role.

Do you have what it takes?(Basic Qualifications)- Minimum 2 year technical degree
- 3+ years job specific experience in a labeling role. Preferred experience in human or pet food.
- Proficient working knowledge of MS Office applications as well as access databases.
- Working knowledge of recent food labeling changes in the US.
- Demonstrated success guiding cross-functional teams.
- Experience writing and maintaining technical documents.
- Proven knowledge of US FDA Labeling Regulations and CFR.
- Excellent organizational, analytical & time management skills.
- Able to manage multiple projects and multiple priorities concluded on time.
- Must be results driven, detail oriented, self-motivated and able to work independently.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to speak, read, and write English fluently, with or without an accommodation.
- HACCP and/or PCQI training
- Label creation training by recognized 3rd party
- SAP experience
- Experience with Genesis Nutritional Labeling (or other label creation system)
- Experience with Trace Gains (or other supplier documentation management system)
- Flexibility on work hours and able to work on holidays.
