Job Summary:The Quality Manager is responsible for overseeing quality control and assurance for large-scale infrastructure projects. This role ensures that construction activities comply with project specifications, regulatory requirements, and industry best practices. The ideal candidate has extensive experience in heavy civil construction with a strong background in quality management systems and inspections.
Key Responsibilities:Quality Assurance & Compliance
- Develop, implement, and maintain the Quality Management Plan (QMP) for heavy civil construction projects.
- Ensure all work adheres to contract requirements, project specifications, and industry standards (e.g., DOT, AASHTO, ASTM, ACI).
- Conduct regular audits, inspections, and testing to monitor compliance and identify potential quality issues.
- Oversee materials testing, including concrete, asphalt, soil, and structural components.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, including environmental and safety standards.
- Establish and enforce quality control procedures across all project phases, from pre-construction to project completion.
- Identify and investigate non-conformance issues (NCRs) and implement corrective/preventive actions.
- Work closely with project teams to resolve quality concerns while minimizing rework and cost impacts.
- Maintain and manage project documentation, including quality control reports, inspection records, and test results.
- Coordinate with engineers, project managers, subcontractors, and field personnel to ensure quality objectives are met.
- Serve as the liaison between the project team and regulatory agencies, clients, and third-party inspectors.
- Facilitate pre-installation meetings and quality training for project personnel.
- Lead quality control meetings and provide regular updates to leadership on quality performance and issues.
- Develop and conduct quality training programs for project teams to enhance awareness and adherence to quality standards.
- Recommend and implement best practices for continuous improvement in construction quality.
- Stay updated on industry advancements, construction materials, and regulatory changes to optimize quality processes.
- Ability to perform work accurately and completely, and in a timely manner.

- Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, construction management, or related field experience preferred.
- 5+ years of experience in quality management for heavy civil construction projects.
- Basic computer skills including Excel, Word, and Outlook.
