Assistant Geologist

đź•’ 12-Month Contract-to-Hire
We’re looking for an Assistant Geologist to support environmental investigation and remediation projects in the Kansas City area.
This is a great opportunity for someone with a Geology or Environmental degree who’s ready to gain hands‑on field experience in soil logging, groundwater sampling, site investigations, and environmental reporting.

Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in assessing soil and groundwater data, developing soil and groundwater sampling plans, data compilation for soil, air and groundwater analytical results
- Assist with proposal and report writing for environmental based projects
- Assist in coordinating and scheduling subcontractors for field investigation activities and assisting with site remediation planning and implementation
- Assist in coordinating laboratory analysis appropriate to the proper identification and evaluation of samples
- Assist with on-site field monitoring to document compliance with various federal, state, and local permit requirements during project construction
- Performs other duties as assigned
- Complies with all policies and standards
🔎
What we’re looking for:
- Bachelor’s degree in Geology or related Environmental field
- Experience with environmental consulting or hazardous site assessments (Phase I/II preferred)
- Knowledge of hydrogeology, groundwater sampling, and soil classification
- Valid driver’s license (field work required)
- OSHA 40‑Hour HAZWOPER (preferred)
