Summary

The Security Specialist I assists with the planning, development, and administration of Security procedures and programs. Performs job duties in compliance with applicable National Nuclear Security Administration (NNSA)/Department of Energy (DOE) Directives and other applicable National Policies.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Interacts professionally with Federal customers, visitors, management, and peers.
  • Assists with the preparation and implementation of security policies and procedures, and coordinates with appropriate personnel regarding incidents involving security issues.
  • Coordinates access controls to allow authorized personnel or visitor access to restricted records, materials, or areas.
  • Assists with planning and development of security awareness training and education for security operations.
  • Recommends and/or coordinates with other Security personnel on the implementation of policies and procedures in support of management objectives.
  • Develops and facilitates internal communications which may include processing and distribution of information through communications services.
You Must Have
  • At least 1 year experience in law enforcement activities, security operations, or equivalent experience.
  • Bachelor’s degree in a business-related field or two additional years of direct work experience.
  • Ability to travel up to 5% of the time.
  • Ability to work remote, hybrid, or on-site as directed by management and is determined by the needs of the business.
  • Regular and reliable attendance is an essential function of this job.
  • United States Citizenship.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain, if required for position, a U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) security clearance (some positions require additional DOE designations).
