Job Skills / RequirementsFirst Coast Security Solutions is seeking a Trainer / Instructor to support the Federal Protective Service (FPS) Heartland Region contract. This position is responsible for training new and current employees, conducting quality control inspections, ensuring compliance with contract requirements, and maintaining all required training records and certifications. The ideal candidate has a strong background in federal security, instruction, and quality assurance and is committed to developing employees while supporting contract success.
The position requires the ability to perform physically demanding duties while conducting firearms instructions, practical exercises, field evaluations, and classroom training. Frequent travel throughout assigned contract area is required.
Responsibilities
- Provide initial, annual, refresher, remedial, and other required training for new and current employees.
- Develop and conduct required training programs for new hires and current employees that meet FPS and contract requirements.
- Evaluate employee performance and provide coaching to improve knowledge, skills, and job performance.
- Conduct quality control inspections and operational reviews at assigned federal facilities.
- Ensure compliance with post orders, policies, procedures, and contract training requirements.
- Identify deficiencies and recommend corrective actions to management.
- Maintain accurate training records, inspection reports, certifications, and required documentation.
- Assist with internal audits, compliance reviews, and quality assurance initiatives.
- Maintain accountability of training equipment, instructional materials, and related resources.
- Travel throughout the Heartland Region to conduct training, inspections, and field evaluations.
Requirements
- Must be at least 21 years of age.
- Must be a U.S. Citizen and able to meet all federal contract eligibility requirements.
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Bachelor's degree preferred or equivalent military, law enforcement, security, or management experience.
- Valid driver's license.
- Must receive and maintain a favorable Enter on Duty (EOD) or fitness determination.
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
- Strong written, verbal, organizational, and leadership skills.
- Ability to obtain and maintain all contract-required certifications and clearances.
Experience
- Minimum of five (5) years of specialized experience in security operations, quality assurance, inspections, contract oversight, training management, or operational leadership.
- Minimum of two (2) years of instructor or training experience in civilian law enforcement, military law enforcement, commercial or industrial security, or federal security operations.
- Candidates must also have one of the following: two (2) years of armed security experience, one (1) year of full-duty law enforcement experience, or two (2) years of honorable military service.
