As the Night Security Officer, Security Command Center
, you will help maintain a safe and secure environment by monitoring museum operations, responding to security concerns, and serving as a key point of contact during assigned shifts. This role offers the opportunity to work independently while contributing to the overall safety and success of a world-class cultural institution.

What You'll Do

As the Night Security Officer, Security Command Center, you will support museum operations through monitoring, patrol, and emergency response activities.

Responsibilities include:

Security Command Center Operations
Operate security control equipment and monitor security systems throughout the museum campus.

Monitoring & Response
Monitor alarms and security systems, respond appropriately to incidents, and contact emergency services when necessary.

Building Patrols
Conduct routine patrols throughout the museum, including offices, galleries, stairways, and other facility areas to ensure the security of people and property.

Access Control
Monitor and control access through the Business Entrance and assist with visitor, contractor, and employee access as needed.

Employee Support
Escort employees to their vehicles after dark upon request.

Facilities Monitoring
Serve as the primary point of contact for HVAC monitoring and assist with reporting facility-related concerns.

Communication & Coordination
Answer incoming calls, route communications appropriately, and coordinate with museum staff and emergency responders as needed.

Education & Experience

High school diploma or GED required

Demonstrated reading and writing proficiency in English

Valid driver's license required

Prior experience as a night watch officer, security officer, or central station operator preferred

CPR and First Aid training preferred

Ability to work independently and exercise sound judgment

Strong attention to detail and situational awareness

Ability to respond calmly and effectively during emergencies

Professional and courteous communication skills

Ability to maintain confidentiality regarding museum operations and security procedures

Commitment to accountability, integrity, and service excellence

Technical Skills

Basic computer proficiency

Ability to operate security monitoring systems and related technology

Schedule

Saturday: 6:00 AM – 4:00 PM
Sunday: 6:00 AM – 4:00 PM
Monday: 6:00 AM – 4:00 PM
Tuesday: 6:00 AM – 4:00 PM

Hourly Rate: $16.45 per hour

This is a full-time, benefits-eligible position.

Working Conditions

This position requires frequent walking, standing, climbing stairs and ladders, and conducting patrols throughout the museum campus. The ability to lift up to 30 pounds and respond to emergencies is required. Specific vision abilities include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and color vision. The position may require operation of a motor vehicle.
