Equipment Technician

Foley Equipment is the authorized Caterpillar dealer in Kansas and NW Missouri. The Equipment Technician is primarily responsible for troubleshooting, servicing, and repairing heavy machinery in the shop, including large and small earthmoving equipment.

$23.24 - $55.00 per hour

• Perform all levels of repair and preventative maintenance on heavy machinery, diagnose and troubleshoot problems, make recommendations for repairs and perform critical repairs and adjustments.
• Remove and install parts, disassemble and assemble components, and test and adjust assemblies with minimal supervision.
• Test and verify correct operation of all repairs and adjustments.
• Develop and maintain long‑lasting working relationships with customers.
• Travel is required for training and/or to assist at other locations.

• Basic mechanical knowledge including electrical and hydraulics.
• General knowledge of basic hand tools, air tools, precision measuring tools and instruments.
• Must be able to read and comprehend specifications, service and parts literature, technical bulletins and other related publications.

• Experience working within the diesel mechanics industry (specifically with CAT earthmoving equipment).
• Stable work history.
• Knowledge of the use of various heavy equipment.
